Rita Cant

Rita Cant is a free expression attorney with a background in human rights, press freedoms, and the First Amendment. Before joining the Law Office of Robert B. Jobe, Rita served as the William J. Brennan Fellow at the ACLU's Speech, Privacy & Technology Project in New York and as the inaugural Free Expression Legal Fellow at the Center for Democracy & Technology in Washington, D.C.

Rita graduated from Brooklyn Law School, where she participated in asylum applications through the Safe Harbor Asylum Clinic and worked on prisoners' free speech and access to information rights. Prior to law school, Rita was a reporter and news editor for The Link, a progressive student-run community newspaper in Montreal, Canada, and covered local and international news and politics from Montreal, New York City, and Oaxaca, Mexico.

Rita speaks English and conversational French.
