Harjot Kaur was born in India and grew up in San Jose, California. She graduated from UC Berkeley in December 2018 with a bachelors of science in environmental economics and policy and a minor in energy and sustainability. She is a research fellow for the Jakara Movement.

In addition to leading her own research project and independently conducting research in rural India, Harjot has participated in discussions, protests, and events surrounding empowering immigrants and awareness around their rights in the light of recent events with the Trump administration.

Throughout her involvement, Harjot has enhanced her belief that nothing should get in the way of one making the “American Dream” a reality. Her interest in immigration law stems from her passion to work and build with underserved communities. She is excited to work and learn with clients.
