Catherine Newman holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Legal Studies from The American College of History and Legal Studies, where she studied under renowned Harvard scholar and historian, Dr. Michael B. Chesson. Catherine earned her J.D. at The Massachusetts School of Law at Andover. While in law school, Catherine was a three-time recipient of a CALI (Computer Assisted Legal Instruction) award for excellence in both legal writing and research.
With a passion for human rights and social justice, Catherine began her legal career, practicing immigration law for a San Leandro, California Law firm. She helped navigate clients through the complex maze of immigration proceedings. The deep satisfaction she experienced in assisting individuals with asylum and deportation hearings reinforced her desire to make immigration law her primary focus.
Having lived in the Bay Area during her formative years, Catherine is excited to be practicing law in San Francisco, and is honored to be a part of the team at Robert Jobe Law.
